About the role Based within Southland Hospital, we work in a fast-paced office using a range of systems including paper patient records and electronic systems.
Communication is also key as you will have high levels of interactions with all health professionals both within and alongside Health NZ Southern.
Full, comprehensive training is provided to ensure you have all the skills and knowledge required to thrive in this busy and vital role.
You will be required to supply and retrieve patient records from around the hospital - all staff start in the Filing team, developing your skills to then branch out and cover all roles within the service.
The role includes the following: Maintaining and completing records before filingData integrity tasksDealing with public and health professionals' requests for clinical informationPreparing records for outpatients' clinicsOffice hours are Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.

About you We don't need you to have specific experience within clinical records but you will need to be a skilled communicator, be reliable, accurate and have an eye for detail.
Although not essential, a basic knowledge of medical terminology would be a bonus.
