Administration Assistant - Roading

At the Waimakariri District Council, we are committed to being professional, approachable, and solutions-focused in our service to the community. We are excited to invite applications for an enthusiastic and skilled Intermediate Administrator to join our team in Rangiora.

This is a Full Time – 9 Months Fixed Term role to support our Utilities & Roading Unit, with a particular focus on assisting the Roading Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide efficient and effective administrative support, ensuring high standards of customer service.

Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and foster positive relationships.

Demonstrate our Ta matou mauri values in all interactions and tasks.

Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation, including minute taking – using technology to enhance efficiency.

An ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

About You:
To thrive in this role, it would be preferable you have 2 to 3 years experience in a similar administrative position. You should be someone who enjoys collaborating with others in an open-plan office and is willing to go the extra mile.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, particularly regarding accuracy and efficiency in processes.

Open to learning and not afraid to ask questions along the way to understand.

Exceptional customer service skills, a proactive approach, and a "can-do" attitude are a must.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is required, particularly advanced skills in Word and Outlook, with basic Excel knowledge.

It would be advantageous if you have had some experience in managing diaries and calendars.
