Waikato Hospital campus - Puna Taunaki/Whiti
Permanent - full time - 40 hours per week

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.
About the Role
We have a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and has the ability to motivate and support our Tangata Whaiora to engage in activities on the wards and in the community.
Maori are significantly overrepresented across our service; therefore, you will need to have an understanding of inequity for Maori. Being able to work with Maori across all levels is essential to this role, so together we can achieve better outcomes for Maori.
About the Team/Service/Location
Puna Taunaki and Puna Whiti comprise three stand-alone units situated on Waikato Hospital campus consisting of 15 beds between them. All three units are aligned, sharing the same resources and have a focus on developing skills to maximise independence and social inclusion.
About You

Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
Experience working in a healthcare setting.
Passion for making a difference to the lives of our tangata whaiora and whanau.
Motivation and drive.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
A current full NZ driver's license.
