Activities Coordinator

Details of the offer

Company Description:
Summerset is one of New Zealand's fastest growing companies and the third largest retirement village operator in the country. We design, build and operate retirement villages right across New Zealand. We are proud of our dynamic work environment and an equally diverse workforce.

Job Description:
At Summerset, we are here to bring the best of life to our residents. To do this, we know we need to take care of our people to form a team who are strong enough to care, operate as one team, and strive to do their best.
We are looking for an energetic and creative Activities Coordinator to join our Cambridge village. Ideally, you will have experience in events, hospitality, or aged care, but more important to us will be your genuine love for all kinds of people from all walks of life.
You will plan and facilitate a programme of activities and exciting events for our residents, providing quality resident support, managing vulnerable residents, and communications with families. You will need to be kind, patient, and have great communication skills, while a good level of fitness will prove useful for delivering the best exercise programmes, regular outings, sporting, and recreational events.
You will also have the ability to work a minimum of 80 hours per fortnight, including some evening and weekend work.
To recognise the important work that you do for our residents, we offer:

an enthusiastic and supportive team that is fun to be part of
health cover (if applicable), social sporting teams, and discounts at a range of suppliers plus much more.

If you, or someone you know, are strong enough to care, then we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications:

Positive "can-do" attitude that fosters harmonious relationships with staff and residents.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, capable of engaging and inspiring others.
Genuine interest in working with older people and a positive outlook on aging.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); event management or hospitality experience is a plus. A current first aid certificate and valid driver's license are required.

Additional Information:
Due to NZ Immigration requirements, we are obliged to consider candidates that already have the right to work in NZ for this role first. Due to this, we may not be able to support a visa application for this role. This role may close early due to an increased number of applications - apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
Please note, only suitable applicants will be contacted.
