About the Role We are seeking an experienced Activities Coordinator to support our residents with their planned activities, to maintain active lives and support their wellbeing. The position is based at The Village Palms in Shirley, Christchurch.
This role is a permanent, part-time role, total 15 hours per week. This is a 3-day a week role on Fridays, Sundays and one more day in the week (you can pick the day that works for you). Hours are family friendly - 9.30am to 3 pm.
Key responsibilities will include: Planning and implementing an innovative activities programLiaising with families and staff to participate in leisure activitiesAssisting our residents to participate in organized activitiesEstablish and maintain a therapeutic environmentEnsure the health and safety of our residentsDriving the village van to take our residents to outdoor activitiesAbout you We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative, outgoing and can think outside the box. You will have a genuine love for the elderly and want to make a difference. Ideally you will have experience as an Activities Coordinator; however, this role would suit an experienced Caregiver looking to broaden their skill set with a passion for ensuring our residents are enjoying a therapeutic environment and experiencing the activities on offer at our Care Suites.
