We are seeking
an ACEM (Australasian College for Emergency Medicine) trainee with a special interest in Rural & Remote Hospital Medicine to join our dynamic team.
This position offers a rare 6-month opportunity (starting July 2023) to gain specialized experience in delivering emergency medical care in rural and remote settings, consisting of various roles including emergency (no greater than 50%), urgent care, primary care, and ward-based services including general medicine, CCU, paediatrics, orthopaedics and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities :
As an ACEM trainee in Rural & Remote Hospital Medicine, you will be responsible for :
Providing emergency medical care to patients in rural and remote hospitals, including triaging and managing acute medical conditions, trauma, and emergencies.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, including coordinating transfers to larger hospitals when necessary.
Participating in the development and implementation of emergency care protocols and procedures specific to rural and remote settings.
Engaging in ongoing professional development and keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in rural and remote hospital medicine.

To be eligible for this ACEM trainee position, you must meet the following requirements :
At least three years (PGY3+) of post-graduate experience.
Eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz.
Demonstrate a strong interest in rural and remote medicine, with previous experience in rural or remote healthcare settings preferred.
Possess excellent clinical skills, including the ability to manage acute medical conditions and trauma in resource-limited settings.
Have effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
