Bishop Associates Recruitment – Ashburton, South Island We are looking for a switched on, reliable and driven person to step into an accounts payable role within a genuine down to earth team in the agriculture sector. What You'll Do As an Accounts Payable Officer, your main focus will be managing the accounts payable processes and related admin tasks alongside the accounts team. You'll handle everything from coding invoices and entering data to reconciling bank accounts. But this isn't just a behind-the-scenes role – you'll also be building relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers. Here's a snapshot of what your day-to-day will look like: Coding and entering invoices into our system in a timely manner. Sorting out any invoice issues like missing payments or price differences by liaising with supervisors and suppliers. Preparing monthly payment runs and handling one-off payments when needed. Reconciling supplier statements and assisting with financial information. Reconciling designated bank accounts and responding to accounts-related queries. Helping with financial reports, keeping systems and spreadsheets up-to-date, and ensuring all documentation is filed properly. Who We're Looking For We're after someone who's either got a solid background in accounts payable or someone who is keen to get a foot in the door to this space. This person will thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment as well as being great with numbers and have an eye for detail. You should also be confident using accounting systems and Excel, and able to handle confidential information with care. Skills and experience: Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail. Able to manage confidential information. Experience with accounting systems and Excel. Well-organised and able to juggle priorities to meet deadlines. Bonus Points If You Have: A finance or accounting qualification. Experience in the agriculture sector (though this isn't a dealbreaker!).
