This role offers the chance to be involved in a defining project in the critical communications industry within New Zealand!About the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join the Tait Systems team on a fixed-term basis from now until December 2026, based in our central Auckland office.Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for core finance tasks, as well as being a key contributor to the month-end reporting process.
This is a varied role, covering a range of areas including accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash management, as well as assisting with asset management and other financial deliverables.Your key responsibilities will include:Process, maintain and reconcile assigned general ledgers, including bank, receivables, payables and prepayments.Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.Investigate balances and transactions, ensuring any issues are resolved in a timely manner.Reconcile bank accounts and accounts payable transactions.Provide month-end support including preparation and posting of standard revenue and accrual journals.Support in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring expenditures align with the financial plan.General administration support as required: A key part of this role is to provide support to the wider finance team and this requires flexibility, acceptance of responsibility and ability to work in a team environment.To find out more about the role, please download the position description from our Careers page.About YouWe're looking for a professional, highly organized individual with the following skills:Minimum of four years practical accounting experienceStrong attention to detail and accuracyCompetency in accounting software and MS ExcelA good understanding of accrual accounting and account reconciliationComputer skills, keyboard skills, spread sheeting and word-processingExcellent communication, presentation, organisation and customer service skillsAble to work well under pressure and maintain high standards of work output.Able to work independently, show initiative and motivation, and be a team player.Able to plan and allocate workload to achieve reporting and processing timetables.In addition to the above, we're looking for a proactive individual, able to take ownership of problems and develop solutions.
