As Accounting Manager you will be responsible for the provision of financial support to the Head of Accounting, AU & NZ and CFO AU&NZ and the wider NZ team. This includes responsibility for all areas of financial and management accounting, corporate taxation, cash management, projects and supervision of onshore/offshore Finance team.
Your main responsibilities:
Ensure that all periodic financial reporting (monthly, quarterly and yearly) are timely disclosed in accordance with group internal deadlines and regulatory requirements, under accounting, tax and legal requirements.
Ensure the consistency and appropriateness in accounting methods and the respect of accounting requirements across the Finance Factory, leading compliance with the business's internal corporate and finance rules book.
Supporting contracting and procurement activities, ensuring finance requirements are addressed in contracts and appropriate risk analysis has been completed prior to contract execution.
Monitor balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner, identify potential write-offs as soon as they are recognised or understood.
Assist in the management of liquid funds ensuring adequate levels are maintained through cash flow monitoring and forecasting in accordance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
Preparation of annual financial statements.
Completion of both external and internal audits adhering to Group/IFRS policies where applicable.
Collaborate with local and offshore Finance Factory team.
Assist with projects where applicable providing key financial insight and advice.
Monitor and staff to enable timely, efficient and innovative solutions to the AzP NZ business.
Provide the necessary staffing support (both internally and externally) to enable the production, development and support of operating systems.
Key requirements/What you bring
CA or CPA qualification.
Relevant tertiary qualification.
Demonstrated experience post CA/CPA qualification.
Demonstrated experience in a Chartered or SME environment.
Experience within the insurance industry and reinsurance (highly preferred).
Demonstrated experience in financial and management accounting disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to prepare statutory reporting and taxation.
Highly competent accounting skills as a core requirement including up to date IFRS knowledge.
Understanding of corporate taxation.
Experienced in standard ERP and financial systems, MO.
