Accounting Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager who wants to play a strong role in the strategic direction of the organisation and be hands-on in managing all compliance matters. This broad role is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished finance leader to push the performance and growth of a company who is dedicated to providing an incredible customer experience in the agricultural and manufacturing service sector. Key Responsibilities Prepare and report monthly financial performance including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow positions; Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial project planning; Collaborate within the leadership team to drive strategic planning and execution; Manage payroll, financial transactions and personnel functions; Identify and implement effective cost management across the business; Co-ordinate and work closely with external auditors; Manage a variety of contracts, including leases, building maintenance and supplier agreements; Supervise and mentor the Finance Officer, ensuring effective performance and development; Play a hands-on role and promote a positive culture in regards to safety and environmental compliance; Promote financial literacy and best practice throughout the business; Provide exemplary customer service and build strong lasting relationships at all levels; Maintain strict confidentiality with personnel and commercial information. Your qualifications, skills and experience: Relevant qualification in accounting or related field; Professional certifications (CA, CPA, etc) would be desirable; Proven experience in a financial leadership role; Working knowledge of NZ compliance, accounting, employment, and tax laws, along with H&S and environmental regulations; A history of driving strategic planning and execution for continuous improvement and growth; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving financial opportunities and challenges; High computer literacy with experience in key Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders; An engaging and enthusiastic leadership style with the ability to positively influence and support the wider team; A can-do, hands-on attitude to assisting with all aspects of the business to achieve service and compliance commitments. NZWTA also operates a comprehensive textile and product testing business to complement its wool testing activities. The company has an IANZ-accredited laboratory in Napier and operates branches throughout the South Island.
