We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our clients Finance team. This pivotal role involves managing day-to-day accounting functions, processing payroll, and handling accounts payable/receivable transactions. The successful candidate will support month-end closing procedures, assist in financial analysis, and contribute to accurate, timely financial reporting. The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of our operations.Key Responsibilities:Accounting:Oversee end-to-end accounting processes for assigned entities.Prepare and review monthly financial information and management reports.Manage online banking data to support receipts, payments, and transfers.Calculate and process cost allocations and cross charges; prepare GST returns for assigned entities.Investigate budget variances and collaborate with managers to provide explanations.Review transactions and make necessary corrections.Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements.Handle foreign currency transactions and balance sheet revaluations.Accounts Payable:Provide backup support for Accounts Payable processes.Raise Purchase Orders for assigned entities and track/process imports.Steel Processing:Process steel transactions daily and follow up on regular stocktakes with variance analysis.Manage accounting for stock components and ensure job costing and inventory systems accurately reflect steel usage and inventory.Accounts Receivable:Perform selected Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing and receipting for assigned companies.Payroll:Process payroll for assigned entities and prepare various tax filings and returns.Financial Support and Analysis:Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and preparing ad-hoc financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.Qualifications:Relevant qualification; studying towards or holding Chartered Accountant status or a similar professional qualification preferred.Experience:Ideally 5+ years' experience in a complex organization.Experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and monthly accounts preparation preferred.Skills:Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Strong proficiency in Excel and analytical skills.Experience with MYOB Green Tree and/or Xero preferred; ERP experience essential.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and taxation regulations.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.Strong planning and prioritisation skills.If this sounds like the role for you, apply today by emailing your CV and cover letter to Paula at ****** or contact us on (09) 430 3777 for a confidential discussion and copy of the full job description.Applicants for this position must be eligible to work in New Zealand and hold a valid NZ work visa or NZ residency. #J-18808-Ljbffr
