The Accountant is responsible for supporting senior accountants and members of the shared service team with accounting duties including monitoring transactions, resolving queries and assisting with analysis.
This role will sit in the Cost function but also support Intercompany.What you'll doRecord-2-Report activitiesAssisting in the generation of general ledger transactions and subsequent related adjustmentsSupporting monthly activities including balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting the preparation of financial analysis and reports from a profit and loss and balance sheet perspectiveSupporting the analysis and review of financial information of discrepancies and variancesContributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures including initiating any actions to reduce write offs and improve efficienciesAssisting audit preparations and year end activitiesSupporting the preparation of accounting records and financial reports as per Datacom standardsEnsuring all accounting tasks are completed within the set timeframe and any issues addressed as they ariseLiaising with the broader team to ensure that all reporting standards are appropriately embedded into relevant finance processes.Performing other accounting duties and supporting the broader team as required or assignedSupporting in the design and implementation of effective and appropriate financial controls.What you'll bringDetailed knowledge of general accounting systems, processes and practices3 -5 years of general accounting or audit experienceCA or CPA qualifiedExperience influencing stakeholders through challenging situationsAbility to deliver accurate and timely financial outputsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with people at any level in the organisationExcellent organisational skillsPassion for process improvement and simplificationStrong system skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise resource planning software (ERP)Why join us here at Datacom?Datacom is one of Australia and New Zealand's largest suppliers of Information Technology professional services.
