In addition to producing fertiliser, it is also a producer of industrial chemicals distributed to a wide range of industry sectors. It is in this latter part of the business where we currently seek an experienced Account / Business Development Manager to take up the reins.What will you be doing?This is a national role, based at either the company's Mt Maunganui head office of New Plymouth operation. As Account Manager for the Industrial Chemicals portfolio you will promote chemicals into a range of industry sectors which include wood products and preservatives, petrochemicals and cleaning products. This is not merely a sales role. Ballance has a solid portfolio of existing customers, but there are plenty of opportunities yet untapped. Here you will have primary accountability for business development, refining and implementing strategic plans and initiatives that will drive profitable industrial chemical business growth. Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions will assist Ballance in growing and maintaining relationships with clients, generating new business, improving service, ensuring sustainability, and meeting business objectives. Your ability to close deals will figure strongly in growing the portfolio, while your ability to create and enhance internal relationships, particularly within the manufacturing area, will be fundamental to your success. What are we looking for? Relevant tertiary qualification in (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline) is expected, while a post-graduate qualification in Business would be idea.A minimum of 5 years' experience in senior sales management or business development roles.Knowledge of, and affinity with, the Industrial Chemicals sector, which may include transport fuels and. or fertilisers.Knowledge of the relevant legislation related to industrial chemical sales and HSE.Competent in the use of CRM systems and have the ability to plan and execute sales cycles.Great communication skills; you listen effectively and can adapt to situations as they arise.Entrepreneurial flair and commercial acumen, excellent negotiation and influencing skills and strong project management skills.You can be summed up as: performance driven and customer focused, organised, reliable and consistent, honest, persuasive, action orientated, an energetic self-starter, a team player and possessing a great sense of humour.
