Auckland Thoroughbred Racing is on the hunt for someone to join its Ellerslie Events division as a superstar account manager to help deliver the thrill of events to customers.
As part of a team of three account managers and overseen by an expert and supportive sales manager, you will be responsible for a share of helping deliver event services for the 900+ events per year – including raceday hospitality events – that are held across the venue's 21 function rooms and outdoor spaces. You'll be charged with helping ensure a seamless event & client experience from the initial enquiry through to post-event follow up and in between times, act as the go-between for our clients and various internal departments who work all together to help deliver on client expectations.
You will need to demonstrate:
An ability to organise and manage clients' event requirements;
Enthusiasm and an ability to sell and promote all event services that Ellerslie Events & Auckland Thoroughbred Racing offer;
An ability to meet and exceed sales targets as set by management;
An ability to upsell to clients to maximise revenue potential;
Excellent client relationships that will build frequency and referral business;
Strong administration experience;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
A strong ability to multi-task under pressure;
Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail;
Previous experience working in events or the hospitality/service industry;
An excellent level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and an understanding of event management systems such as Priava or similar; plus an ability and enthusiasm to adopt other systems of work;
A professional persona and presentation.
We will also need you to be open to working flexible hours in order to ensure a flawless delivery of our clients' and racing business's needs - especially as many of our client events and racedays fall on public holidays and weekends.
