Our client, a prominent supplier to the building and construction industry, is seeking a talented Account Manager in Christchurch to join their South Island account management team.
In this key customer-facing position, you will primarily focus on nurturing and managing existing client relationships. Your expertise selling into the building industry will help ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty, making a positive impact on customers' experience with your products and services. Your experience dealing with builders, commercial and residential projects from a supplier perspective and being able to navigate complex problems, while troubleshooting on the fly will be crucial in this role. Working with aluminium products would also be advantageous.
While this role is Christchurch based, it will manage a portfolio of customers from Nelson to Invercargill and many locations in between. A willingness to travel around the South Island 6-8 days a month will be necessary for the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring their expectations are met.
Customer Engagement: Proactively communicate with clients to address their concerns and provide tailored solutions that enhance their experience.
Technical Insight: Utilise your trade sales knowledge to discuss product specifications, production capabilities, and quality control, adding value to client interactions and support to key construction projects.
Problem-Solving: Apply your experience to address operational challenges faced by clients, providing effective real-world solutions.
Project Management: Oversee client accounts efficiently, ensuring timely project delivery and resource coordination.
Our Requirements For The Ideal Candidate
Trade Sales Experience: Proven background in trade sales or account management within the building and construction or manufacturing sectors, ideally in aluminium or similar.
Customer-Focused: A dedication to understanding and fulfilling client needs with effective solutions.
Strong Communicator: Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Problem solver with an analytical mindset.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel around the South Island to support client relationships as needed.
