Our client is seeking an experienced Account Director to join their top integrated Public Relations and Communications agency based in Central Auckland.Our client is New Zealand's top integrated PR agency, that works with both local and international brands. They offer a super friendly and supportive team environment where strategic thinking, creativity and exceptional planning are championed. You will be responsible for directing multi-touch point integrated campaigns including media relations, influencer marketing and experiential. You will have the opportunity to mentor and guide the junior members of the team.
What you'll do:

As an Account Director, you will be committed to delivering excellent public relations solutions and outstanding client service across designated accounts. You will be responsible for the quality of work, output and results of client communications initiatives. You will looking after a core portfolio predominately within the FMCG sector, ranging from local to international brands.

• Develop and maintain close and open rapport with clients resulting in a business partnership approach.
• Run or help run the client account based on an understanding of the requirements of both businesses, particularly with regard to service levels, budgets and timings.
• Offer strategic recommendations to the client on their account.
• Take ownership of individual client projects.
• Take a proactive approach to defusing potential problems that may arise on any particular project/campaign.
• Offer 360º integrated advice to clients on their communications plans with particular focus on public relations solutions.

What you'll bring:

The ideal candidate for this Account Director role will bring a minimum of four year's experience in a client service background within communications or PR. You will have core PR technical skills including writing for different areas of the media, plans and recommendations, broad understanding of event management, sponsorship, marketing communications. You will be able to create and sell in stories to news media and have good media contacts.

• Minimum of 4 years client service background in communications or PR
• Core PR technical skills including writing for different areas of the media
• Ability to produce client PR strategy
• Good general business understanding
• Well developed communication skills – both oral and written
• Some experience in presenting at a senior level
• Good at building and maintaining relationships.
