Mo Tenei Turanga Mahi | About the RoleThis position is for an ASM Barbering and is part of the Faculty of Business, Design and Service Industries.
The role involves teaching on our barbering programmes.
As an Academic Staff Member within this team, you will be required to teach in the classroom and tutor akonga; research, review and update resources and classroom materials; set and mark assignments and enter results; assist with the recruitment and care of akonga; and actively participate in team and school environment.
Travel between campuses Mokoia (Rotorua) and Windermere (Tauranga) will be required.The appointing salary for this role will be between $67,825 up to $81,294, dependent on skills and experience.The ASM Barbering is based in our Windermere Campus, Toi Ohomai | Te Pukenga reporting to the Academic Lead and will be responsible for:Delivery of Barbering ProgrammesProviding leadership in student managementDeveloping, planning and implementing student assessment, courses and resource materialMonitoring student progress and results providing timely and accurate advice and support as requiredPlanning and timetabling for the programme as well as assisting with recruitmentManaging the training salonsActively promoting and applying Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology Health and Safety policiesHe korero mou| About youTo be successful in this role you will have:National qualification in Barbering or equivalentA minimum of 5 years industry experienceIn depth experience and knowledge of the Barbering IndustryGood computer literacy skillsMo Matou | About usToi Ohomai, a business division of Te Pukenga, is a vibrant and progressive tertiary institute with regional campus locations in Toi Ohomai Windermere (Tauranga), Toi Ohomai Mokoia (Rotorua).Toi Ohomai | Te Pukenga is committed to giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and delivering services in a manner that responds to the needs of Maori learners and their whanau, as well as the aspirations of iwi and Maori communities throughout our region (including Maori employers).
