Au Mahi | What You Will Do
We are seeking an experienced Academic Coordinator to provide professional and confidential administrative support to the Associate Dean (Academic) and assist the Office of the Executive Dean, Faculty of Education. This role is crucial in facilitating academic operations, ensuring efficient administrative processes, and supporting the strategic goals of the Faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-level administrative support to the Associate Dean (Academic), assisting in reviews, managing schedules, correspondence, and academic documentation.
Provide advice and assistance to the Associate Dean (Academic) to ensure best practice is followed.
Assist in the coordination of meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
Organise and manage academic functions and events, ensuring successful execution and adherence to protocols.
Support the development and maintenance of faculty-related materials, including research and website content.
Foster effective communication within the Faculty and with external stakeholders.
Mou | Who You Are
To perform successfully in this role you will have a minimum of 5 years' demonstrated experience as an administrator in a similar research academic or professional role, and have:
excellent diary and email management skills
experience organising functions and events, demonstrating strong planning and execution skills
competence in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with website software (e.g., Dreamweaver) and online research
excellent written and oral communication skills, with a professional presentation
experience with meeting and minute-taking protocols
strong eye for detail and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in all work
a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently while supporting team objectives
active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga (protocols), and kawa (rules) of cultural practices as guided by mana whenua, Ngai Tuahuriri, and valuing te reo Maori.
You will also be a highly competent coordinator, with good initiative to work without supervision and maintain confidentiality.
