At the cutting edge of science and technology, we are seeking a Food Technologist to join our fast-growing and highly productive Food Solutions Team based in Palmerston North. What you will be doing | Nga whainga matua With a degree in food technology, and at least 2 years' experience, you will support new product development projects and processing and formulation trials focused on food, feed, bakery and beverage products at laboratory, pilot plant and industry scale. This position provides an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience in project management while further developing experience in process and product development within a multi-disciplinary R&D team. What you will bring | Nga tino pukenga me nga wheako • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. preferably BFoodTech, BFood Science, BE, MFoodTech, MFood Science, ME or equivalent) in food product development and processing, food technology or food engineering • Experience in using pilot- or commercial-scale processing equipment and applying food technology knowledge and knowhow to the innovation of ingredients and food, feed, bakery and beverage products. • Experience in the management and analysis of food product development, systems, and processing unit operations. • Experience in experimental design, statistical analysis and scientific or technical report writing. • Understanding of food safety principles and practices with experience in the management of health and safety policies and guidelines to support of lab and pilot plant R&D processes and new product development (NPD). • Familiar with the FSANZ, NZFSA food regulations and NZ GAP (Good Agricultural Practices).
