Full Stack Developer (Kiwifruit) Science and Business Solutions Te Puke, New Zealand Vacancy number: 53405 Fixed Term (2 years), Fulltime (38 hours per week) Salary Range: $81,000 to $121,000 per annum Are you looking for an exciting opportunity that will develop, deploy and maintain science informatics systems for Plant & Food Research's Kiwifruit Data Programme? Please note: in order to learn industry requirements and due to customer demands this role is based in Te Puke for the first year. What you will be doing | Nga whainga matua As a key member of the Information Knowledge Services team your focus will be to develop, deploy and maintain science informatics systems for Plant & Food Research's Kiwifruit Data Programme (KDP) research programme for the capture and analysis of kiwifruit breeding and research data by the Kiwifruit Breeding Centre. Key tasks are: Analyse system functional requirements and identify appropriate solutions Where required, develop, maintain, document and enhance software, deployment processes/scripts and automated tests Manage source code, documentation, bug reports and enhancement requests using systems such as source code repositories and issue tracking systems Contribute to the development of Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to software development, and encourage staff engaged in software development across the institute to adopt these policies and SOPs. Participate in scrum meetings, such as those for planning, review, retrospective and daily stand-up meetings Joint responsibility with the KDP scrum team for the following: Technical analysis of user stories and assessment of complexity User story implementation using the most suitable technology and platforms Testing of implemented user stories Presentation of implemented stories to developers, end users and other stakeholders Deployment of new releases and bug fixes on production systems. What you will bring | Nga tino pukenga me nga wheako To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are: Graduate level qualification in Information Systems (IS),or several years of strong, relevant experience in IS. Strong software development skills in Java (specifically in Spring Boot) and JavaScript in frameworks such as ReactJS, or better still Angular, are required and will be tested as part of the recruitment process. Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker is required. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within a large-scale data analysis environment Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, unit testing, and developing and consuming of RESTful microservice APIs is needed Experience in the Agile Scrum Development methodology and as a member of an Agile Scrum Development team. Experience with continuous integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins is required, as is experience with distributed event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
