About the Opportunity: This is a career opportunity within Holcim (New Zealand) to be part of the MV Buffalo team. The MV Buffalo is responsible for effectively transporting cement for Holcim throughout New Zealand from its homeport of Timaru.
As the Third Engineer, you will assist the Chief & 2nd Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the ship and ensure that the ship complies with all statutory and local regulations in delivering these operational outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesMaximize the distribution of Holcim (New Zealand) cement products and contracted cargoes by ensuring the safe and efficient operation and upkeep of the nominated Company ship's hull, plant, and equipment.Assist the 2nd Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation and upkeep of machinery affecting safe operation of the ship.Provide professional, proficient, accurate, and prudent advice to the Chief & 2nd Engineer regarding marine engineering issues on-board the ship.About YouYou will hold at a minimum, a New Zealand recognized Class 2 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (MEC 2).New Zealand Sea Going license, issued by Maritime New Zealand.Confined Space Entry Certificate.Experience with the Amos Maintenance System is preferable but not a prerequisite.Ideally hold a Chief Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency (MEC1).What Can We Offer You?We will invest in your growth, providing you with direction, leadership, and recognition.
