The Tararua Alliance is a unique partnership between Tararua District Council and Downer NZ, established to manage the Tararua district's 3 waters reticulation and transportation infrastructure in a collaborative, single-team approach. Our vision is 'Leading through Collaboration' and we are striving to deliver best in class services for Tararua communities.

We have recently reviewed and revised our structure, to best enable us to achieve the new objectives. This has created some outstanding opportunities, and we are now on the lookout for an Engineering Technician to join our team.

As an Engineering Technician with Downer your days will be busy and varied, so a flexible attitude is essential! Your role will be to provide assistance to the 3 waters team including QA testing support to ensure successful delivery of civil construction projects.

You will have the opportunity to develop and maintain strong client relationships, liaise with the public and be responsible for undertaking site testing/surveying to collect data for design, preparing QA reports and maintaining QA records. You will also have a quality and safety ethos and perform audits and checks to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality and environmental policies.

Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills

We are looking for individuals with the following skills and experience:

Have or are working towards acquiring A BE or Dip Eng, or other relevant qualification

Proven practical experience in a contracting environment

Problem solving ability

Strong work ethic

A good health and safety related track record

A current, full driver's license is essential

Experience in water reticulation
