Transpower owns and operates the National Grid, which is at the very heart of the New Zealand economy. We transport electricity from where it is generated to large electricity users and the distribution businesses that deliver it to homes and businesses nationwide.
About the team
The Enterprise Information Management Team provides information management and governance to Transpower's staff and external service providers. These services include document management, technical drawings/models, photos/multimedia, controlled documents, and offsite storage.
About the opportunity
Along with our existing Engineering Model Advisor, you will be the custodian of our 3D engineering models, administering Transpower's Model Management System (MMS) and supporting our users. We are in the process of modelling our 172 substations. To date 35 have been laser scanned and 25 modelled using Autodesk and stored in our Bentley ProjectWise MMS. We also have approximately 25,000 towers across 317 PLS-CADD models.
This role is key in ensuring the right processes and procedures are followed to safeguard the quality of content and contributes to future direction of our Model Management System and the maximising of the value of this extremely important dataset.
Your work will include:
Facilitating the provision of model data for internal and external stakeholders, managing access control to ensure security of Transpower's records.
Promoting best practice information management workflow and delivering coaching to develop user capability.
Contributing to model standards and workflow documentation.
Monitoring project model outputs for completeness and timeliness, which will ensure quality outcomes that meet the needs of the business and external stakeholders.
Advising on future best practice to expand utility of the platform.
About you:
With a tertiary qualification in CAD and/or equivalent experience, your CV and cover letter will highlight your experience, skills, and knowledge across the following:
Proven experience working with 3D engineering models and data.
Proven experience of information management or document control for infrastructure projects.
Effective relationship management skills.
Ability to work in the detail and apply systems thinking.
Proven experience applying analytical and investigative skills to resolve problems quickly and accurately.
Ideally you will have:
An understanding and application of ISO 19650 principles and setting up IM workflows.
Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, PLS-CADD, and AutoDesk products (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
Experience with a formal construction information management platform.
Experience drafting or working with Electrical Engineering drawings.
