Waimea Nurseries is one of New Zealand's largest nurseries, growing fruit trees for orchardists, and fruit, ornamental and berry plants for garden retailers. Established in 1971, the nursery now covers over 250 hectares with a mix of field and container tree production. The main nursery site is located 10 minutes from Richmond on the Waimea Plains and offers a fabulous work culture with the ability to grow and develop in the business.RoleWe are looking for a new 2IC! You will be involved in growing our fantastic trees on the beautiful Waimea Plains. This position is responsible for taking a hands-on role in leading our production team in various tasks throughout the year. The 2IC helps ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, on time and to the required standard. This is an entry level leadership role where the key requirements are enthusiasm, fantastic people skills and a down to earth nature, along with the willingness to train others to ensure they reach their maximum potential! Leadership training and the opportunity for career development and salary progression is available for the right person.The successful applicant will ideally have experience in a leadership position, be fit with a love of working outdoors and be able to take pride in seeing real, tangible results in their work.
