Te Ara Pakeke (Adult Residential Services) supports people who experience mental distress and need assistance in their recovery journey. We provide a homely and supportive living environment with professional care and monitoring of the general health and wellbeing of our tangata, by ensuring their core personal and mental health needs are met. Our focus is on holistic wellbeing and promoting the citizenship of our tangata.
We are seeking an Adult Residential 1-to-1 Support Worker/Caregiver to join our Lyttleton Street team for the following shift over a 6-month period: Sundays, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM . You should be passionate about providing support to tangata in their daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. A full driver's license is required, as you will be responsible for transporting tangata to Church and other activities.

In this role you will be:
Providing personal care to our female tangata
Assisting with shopping, activities and entertainment, whanau connection, attendance at Specialist Mental Health meetings, and some personal care assistance.
Administering medication so while medication competency is desirable, training can be provided to the right applicant.
You will:
Have a compassionate and caring nature with good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Be a kind, patient person who enjoys spending time with the tangata, and enabling and supporting them to have the best life they can have.
A willingness to commit to and support the bicultural journey that Stepping Stone Trust is on as we live out our partnership under Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
A National Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (level 4) or equivalent; or working toward it.
An intermediate level of computer literacy.
A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
