Hawksbury Community Living Trust – Kaiapoi, South Island
$23.99 - $29.10 per hour (depending on qualifications)
About the role:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in people's lives? Join our team as a part-time Support Staff member at one of our homes in Kaiapoi.
With this role, you will be supporting residents with their everyday activities, including shopping, meal preparation, household chores, personal support, and community outings.
A significant part of this role will be working one-on-one with a lady who is very active and requires low-level stimulating engaging activities and support. You will need to be able to use your initiative and recognize when she requires quiet time and/or potentially engage in activities, outings, domestic chores, and things that provide opportunities for growth and development. A quiet but engaging demeanor will ensure you develop a trusting bond with this delightful lady. Part of your role will require you to proactively encourage and support her with planning and attending these activities.
Ideally, you'll have an NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 or equivalent along with:
A positive attitude to supporting people with learning disabilities.
A full New Zealand driver's licence.
Great communication skills (written and verbal).
What we can offer:
Ongoing development opportunities. If you haven't already completed NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 and 3, we will support you to complete these.
Paid time off the floor to complete your fully funded First Aid certificate in addition to Safe Manual Handling, Falls Prevention, and Dysphagia training.
Free Employee Assistance programme, offering counselling, finance guidance, planning, and career direction.
Access to discounts at 40+ locations.
