This is a fixed-term opportunity through to 28 February 2025. We are looking for experienced Payroll professional to join our dynamic, collaborative, and tight knit Payroll team, based in Auckland. This is a hybrid turanga with three days in the Auckland office.
We spoke with our Payroll Manager, who let us know the following about the roles:
What does a day in the life of a Payroll Specialist look like? No day is the same and this variety is what makes the turanga so exciting.You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of HR data and payroll information in SAP, to ensure that our people are paid in accordance with the appropriate employment agreements & legislation.Provide guidance and resolutions for any pay related queries.Processing payroll in accordance with the Holidays Act and Company Policy.Ensuring control is maintained and auditable.Supporting the Payroll team as required on a number of important initiatives including streamlining of processes and procedures, improving payroll controls and looking at opportunities for automation.Reporting using Spinifex.What is the team culture and environment like? Within the payroll team, we are a hugely supportively team and we will be completely invested in ensuring you have everything you need to be successful in this turanga. 
Of course, being in a turanga where you are responsible for ensuring more than 5,000 people are paid correctly every fortnight, may seem like a lot of pressure, but rest assured we are experts are maintaining a great work/life balance and bringing light-hearted fun into our daily routines.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful? We are looking for an excellent communicator, with great attention to detail and a strong ability to identify areas for improvement and streamline processes. Having an analytical and methodical mindset will be useful when diagnosing any issues or trouble shooting pay related queries.
Ideally you will have at least 3 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience, with very good SAP knowledge and experience, and SpinifexIT Reporting knowledge, however this is not essential.
Any experience dealing with complex systems and processes in a large corporate environment where you will be able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in your work would be a bonus.
