The purpose of the Transport Rebuild East Coast Alliance (TREC) is to restore the state highway and railway networks in the Hawkes Bay and Gisborne Regions impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle
You'll initially work as the Maintenance & Operations Design and Delivery Optimisation Lead to identify, quantify and implement opportunities that will enhance delivery efficiencies on the network. You will be responsible for liaison with TREC Design and Construction, and external works (i.e developers, SIP etc) to ensure the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) requirements are incorporated into design (Maintenance in Design), delivery is programmed to minimise impact on the customer, and ultimately optimise value of work delivered by TREC M&O.
On completion of TREC, Network Maintenance Contracts are re-implemented on the State Highway Network, you will move into the Maintenance Contract Manager Hawkes Bay position, where you will work with the System Management maintenance delivery contract and provide levels of service that meet both the technical requirements and the customer needs. The purpose of this role is to work with the highways maintenance and operations service delivery contractor to achieve the specified customer and technical levels of service.
This position is based in our Napier office and is a great opportunity for a driven individual to make an important difference for the transport system in the Hawkes Bay region.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
