An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AOD) and the Manu Ka Rere collaboration for a suitably qualified person to work as a Youth Mental Health and Addiction Clinician.
Who we are
The Christchurch City Mission, Te Whare Mihana Ki Otautahi, is a social services agency offering support for those who need it, regardless of their circumstances. We offer assistance to those who are marginalised through social and economic factors and who are at risk through unemployment, inadequate housing, family breakdown, addiction, financial difficulties or mismanagement, abuse or other difficulty. We work in preventative ways and respond to crises with education and training, addiction support, and counselling. Through our work in the community, we empower people to successfully re-integrate into society with renewed self-esteem, fostering independence.
About the position
Are you passionate about and have experience building rapport with young people aged 13-24 years in the areas of mental health and addiction?
Key tasks of this position include:
Brief intervention counselling
Assessment and treatment planning
Working as part of a multi-agency team
Some group facilitation and service planning
Supporting web-based treatment options
You will work with both City Mission and MKR clients.
This is a full-time, permanent position, typically worked Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm with flexibility to work 10am – 6.30pm as required.
Qualifications in counselling, social work, nursing, health science degree or other related discipline preferred.
If you are creative, able to work as part of a team, and have the organisational skills to manage a clinical case load, then we want to hear from you.
