An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, innovative, and flexible Teacher to join our visual art faculty.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role for 2025.
Responsibilities include collaboration on curriculum design, preparation of creative, dynamic lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques. Encourage independent creativity amongst students and possess strong knowledge in art pedagogy. We need an outstanding art educator to help develop students' depth and breadth of artmaking skills, processes, and techniques.
Applicants are expected to participate in the extensive co-curricular life of the school.
Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education. Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $59,027 and top rate of $99,216. Hours of work will be full time (25 hours per week) as set out in the STCA.
Entry Requirements: To become a Secondary Teacher, you need to have one of the following at Level 7 or above of the NZQF:
A specialist subject degree followed by a one-year Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) or a Master of Teaching (Secondary).
A Bachelor of Education (Technology).
A Bachelor of Teaching conjoint degree (a combination of teaching and specialist subjects).
