Location: Auckland, New Zealand Employment Type: Full-time or 12-month Contract Short Description: WongDoody, a part of Infosys, is a leading technology and design consultancy that specializes in providing innovative solutions for government and large-scale organisations. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UX/Interaction Designer to join our dynamic team. This senior-level position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and deployment of a unified design system/framework for a corporate client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working closely with product teams, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the design system enhances consistency, efficiency, and user experience across all of the clients digital and physical touchpoints. Roles And Responsibilities: Lead the development and rollout of a comprehensive, tokenised design system, ensuring it meets the needs of various products and platforms. Define and document design principles, components, patterns, and guidelines to ensure a cohesive and scalable user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the design system into existing workflows and product development processes. Create and document design tokens for colour, typography, spacing, and other UI elements to be used across various platforms and products. Define the governance model of the design system, including version control, lifecycle management, and ensuring compliance with design standards and best practices. Communication and change management for the design system to promote and ensure its adoption and proper usage by design and development teams. Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to illustrate and communicate design concepts and interactions effectively. Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of design solutions, providing guidance and support throughout the development lifecycle. Advocate for user-centered design principles and practices, championing the importance of accessibility, usability, and user satisfaction in all design deliverables. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices, actively seeking opportunities to enhance the UX/interaction design process and deliver cutting-edge solutions. Qualifications And Requirements: Minimum of 10 years of experience in UX and interaction design, with a strong focus on managing design systems within a corporate environment. Proficiency in UX design tools such as Adobe XD or Figma, as well as prototyping tools like InVision or Axure. Experience with design system management tools (e.g., Figma Design Systems, Storybook, Zeroheight). Strong skills in design system governance, including version control, documentation, and compliance. Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, including user research, user testing, information architecture, and interaction design. Strong visual design skills and attention to detail, with the ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces and prototypes. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Proven ability to present and communicate design concepts and decisions clearly and persuasively. Experience with agile methodologies and working in collaborative design environments is desirable.
