Job Description
Our Waihi Operation is looking for an experienced Underground Electrician who can carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose and remedy faults and install and maintain underground electrical plant and installations.
We will offer practical and rewarding experiences which will keep your workday varied. This will include but is not limited to training on submersible pumps, high voltage switching, leaky feeder communications systems, tele remote load haul dump operating systems, VSD's and PLC's..
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Work as part of a highly driven team committed to the safe production of goldDiagnosing faults or breakdownsUndertaking repairs or component change-outs as required to minimise mining electrical equipment downtimeSupport the asset management plan by carrying out scheduled electrical maintenance inspectionsMaintain high levels of housekeeping in the work area; maintains and keeps tools cleanInspect and maintain underground pumping systemsAssist with the installation and commissioning of a new underground pumping station
Qualifications
New Zealand Electrical Practicing licenceHold, or have the ability to obtain an Electrical Mining endorsement.Working at heights and previous HV experience desirableFull Driver Licence, competent with driving manual vehiclesAt least 2 years relevant underground mining or heavy industrial experience
