Te aheinga - The opportunity As a Trainee Field Staff Arborist/Horticulturalist, you will have the unique opportunity to learn and grow within the field of arboriculture while contributing to the maintenance and preservation of New Plymouth's trees and green spaces.
This position offers hands-on experience and training, allowing you to become qualified as you work.
Key Responsibilities: Assist experienced arborists with tree care and maintenance tasksPerform pruning, planting, and removal of treesConduct tree health assessments and report findingsOperate and maintain arboricultural equipmentEnsure safety protocols are followed at all timesParticipate in training and professional development sessionsMaintain physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditionsExhibit a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learnHold a full driver's licence (class two licence desirable)Commit to obtaining relevant arboricultural qualifications while workingDemonstrate good communication and teamwork skillsHe aha ai a Taranaki?
