Responsibilities:
Directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic at intersections, construction sites, and special events to ensure the safe and orderly flow of traffic.
Setting up and maintaining traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades according to established safety protocols.
Communicating effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and fellow team members to coordinate traffic movements and address concerns.
Monitoring traffic conditions and adjusting traffic control measures as needed to minimize congestion and maintain safety.
Responding to emergencies and incidents on the roadway by implementing appropriate traffic control procedures.
Completing required paperwork and documentation related to traffic control activities.
Requirements:
Valid certification as a TTM, TMO or STMS or willing to obtain.
Previous experience in traffic control or a related field preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
Basic understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Positive attitude and solution focused.
Willing to work long hours, early starts or late nights - Monday to Friday.
