Rarangi Utu a-Matauranga - Education Payroll Limited (EPL) is a Crown entity that delivers pay to schools and kura on behalf of the Ministry of Education. With around 200 employees, we deliver one of the largest and most complex payrolls in Australasia.
The combination of great people and cutting-edge technology enable us to pay around 100,000 teachers and support staff across around 2,500 schools accurately and on time every fortnight. That's approximately $283 million a fortnight and $7.4 billion per annum.
Reporting to the Test Practice Lead, the Test Analyst will support the delivery of new features and enhancements by implementing and monitoring the testing standards for EPL. Working collaboratively with the development teams using the SAFe Agile Framework to drive the quality of software delivery.
If successful, you'll be appointed between $58,050.40 and $87,075.60. Depending on experience and capability we expect to appoint around 100% of the band which is $72,563.00.
Because of the highly collaborative nature of our work, Education Payroll is primarily an office-based workplace. Our office is in central Wellington, close to the train station for an easy commute. We do offer flexible working arrangements after our people have completed an initial training period.
Key accountabilities: Executing EPL's testing practices that contribute to the achievement of EPL's strategic objectives.
Undertaking a range of testing variations depending on project requirements (functional, API, automation etc)
Work with in-house teams and our vendors to ensure Testing services are delivered on time and to agreed quality standards.
Delivery of Testing Services to meet Business as Usual requirements as well as supporting programmes of work and major cyclic work.
Supporting the Test lead and development teams with status updates, verification of acceptance criteria and creation of test artefacts.
Identifying issues found during test execution and reporting them in a timely manner.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
Minimum 1 year of software testing experience.
Highly analytical with strong investigative skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret, analyse and explain information as required.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Experience using SQL (highly desirable).
Strong orientation towards accuracy, methodical with an eye for detail.
Self-motivated and calm under pressure.
The ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
A relevant industry-based certification such as ISTQB (desirable).
