Our client is a New Zealand government agency within the education sector. Their team is committed to using technology to support staff, streamline processes, and align with broader government ICT initiatives.
About the Role:
As a Technology Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting ICT delivery and strategy to enhance organisational effectiveness. You will contribute to the digital transformation by assisting with project planning, implementing new technologies, and providing expert guidance on ICT and digital information systems. This includes maintaining compliance with government requirements such as Protective Security Requirements and collaborating with key stakeholders, including other government agencies, vendors, and service providers.
As the ideal candidate, you will have a hands-on technical background with experience building effective relationships across the organisation and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders. Additionally, you will be capable of bringing a strategic lens to ICT delivery, and able to recommend improvements to process and practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for a generalist ICT professional to have a broad influence across the organisation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Support the ICT work programme to achieve technology and digital strategy goals
Contribute to technology policies and project planning for ICT implementation
Guide staff on the use of information management systems, including Office 365, EDRMS, and the intranet
Provide insight and research on ICT and information management for senior management and teams
Collaborate with government and education sector ICT groups, vendors, and other stakeholders on sector-specific initiatives
Skills and Experience Required:
Background in ICT advisory within public sector environments
Strong Knowledge of Office 365, Sharepoint and Information Management principles
Proven ability to manage and contribute to complex ICT projects
Expertise in digital information systems, including risk assessment and security compliance
Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders, including vendors and government agencies
