Position Purpose: The Improving Mental Health for Prisoners/Offenders (IMHO) Team Leader (TL) is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of the IMHO mental health clinicians and the Wrap Around Family/Whanau Support Services (WA) mental health clinician. The TL will ensure the team delivers efficient, effective, safe, and improved health and outcomes-based services, within the available resources. The TL is responsible for ensuring the team delivers on the outcomes of the Department of Corrections contracted service agreement. This is achieved through people leadership, planning, quality and risk management, monthly and quarterly reporting, certification and accreditation of all staff as required, clinical pathway development, and other service improvements within the IMHO & WAF service areas. About you - To be successful in this role you will have: Current Annual Practice Certificate Extensive experience in community mental health service provision (essential) Experience as a team leader within community mental health (desirable) Strong understanding of working with historical trauma and how trauma can impact recidivistic reoffending behaviour. Can articulate a strong understanding of the role and purpose of counselling models of practice for an offending population. Demonstrates an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to apply the principles and concepts within a WellSouth framework and across various Corrections environments.
