The focus of the Transport Services is to provide, improve and maintain an integrated land transport system to effectively enable people centred, technology-enabled, system focused transport services, in partnership with other system providers.
The Project Services Team is responsible for the management and ongoing development of project management practice and resources within Te Toki | Transport Services. It is accountable for building the enduring project management capability and driving delivery improvements that make it sector leader in delivery excellence.
We do this by:

Driving consistency in best practice through standardising and aligning project excellence that includes from early project development to pre-implementation, and implementation.
Leading in capability maturity that improves delivery performance now, but also implements the foundation to increase capability, underpinned by investing in future innovation, that also connects with emerging industry and global trends.
Overseeing capability development and constructing career pathways to meet project delivery resources needs, ensuring quality outputs that support the achievement of successful outcomes.
Driving operational delivery improvement at every opportunity, embedding better systems and processes by way of a proactive, but deliberate approach to our learning then reinvesting in activities that support better ways of working.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The Team Lead Practice Support key focus is to ensure that the Project Management Practice has the right capability and capacity in pace to deliver the work programme.
A key priority will be to establish and maintain a capability and resource management framework that underpins the activities and tasks that will drive excellence in developing consistent capability and best practice across our teams. Working along internal stakeholder groups, you will collaborate cross functionally to plan for and develop strategies that respond to future resourcing needs – embedding and continually revising a 'best approach' mindset to solutions.
You are the glue between various internal stakeholder groups and will project lead capability ensuring that our project teams have an acute understanding of the ongoing development opportunities to uplift delivery outcomes. You also love seeing others gain career success and will both recruit and develop resources and ensure plans are delivered that support ongoing career development and will be responsible for implementing the right mix of project management tools that aid us to measure competencies by way of assessing, then advising to support the business to understand how to minimise gaps and reduce risk.
