Pitau-Allenvale Permanent Teaching Assistant  We are searching for teaching assistants to join us in 2025 who will be part of our large team of over 100 friendly and passionate staff.
You may be asked to be able to work throughout our five sites: New Base school in Belfast (Pitau Allenvale), a campus at Kendal Avenue (Pitau Rapa), Tetekura (Transition Education Centre) in Phillipstown and satellites at Burnside (Pitau Uru) and Ashgrove (Rangiora) (Pitau-Raki) schools.

Other skills which are expected for the role include: Ability to work with students under teacher supervision on a variety of specified tasksRespect, and have some basis knowledge of Maori language/ pronunciation, culture, beliefs, values and heritage  Respect the language, heritage and cultures of a multicultural environmentMaintain the dignity of students while providing physical assistance with toileting and personal careBe empathetic while creating a structured supported environmentProviding physical support for students when requiredParticipate in swimming programmes, Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC) and other activities as requiredHave the ability to build trusting relationships with students and colleaguesBe punctualBe able to prepare resources required by the classBe eligible to work in New Zealand.
This is a permanent position, so you need to be based in the Canterbury area.
