Job role: Teaching Assistant Location: Christchurch Cohort: Secondary Start date: September (scope to start October half term) Rate: £12.82 per hour Are you passionate about making a positive impact on students with additional learning needs? We are currently working with a mainstream secondary school that believes in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically and creatively. Teaching Assistant roles and responsibilities > Monitor and assist students as needed in their daily routines across classroom activities. > Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN. > Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). > Initiate and follow through with behavioural interventions as designated and demonstrated by the classroom teacher. > Support the learning and wellbeing of pupils throughout the school. > Work alongside and advise learning support assistants. Teaching Assistant Requirements >Some existing knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting students with autism is desirable. > Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.> Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with diverse needs. > Relevant qualifications or training in special education or autism support is desirable but not essential. > A degree of flexibility and adaptability. To work with GSL Education as SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: >Have the right to work in the UK. > Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. > Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
