Teacher – Clendon Teen Parent Unit

James Cook High School has a current roll of 1,600 students, including a Teen Parenting Unit based off the main school site in nearby Clendon. Our school continues to have sustained improvements across a wide range of metrics, including learning, engagement, and achievement.
We seek an effective teacher with a willingness to teach and support our youth parents across the curriculum. This role is part-time (FTTE 0.6), permanent for a January start.
The Clendon Teen Parent Unit is supported by James Cook High School and is located off school grounds. We work closely with agencies on-site that support our young parents: the Taonga Educational Trust, Potiki Early Childhood Centre, and Te Hononga o Tamaki Me Hoturoa. Building strong networks and relationships is essential in our work environment.
We are seeking an applicant who can support us in any of the following areas: Health, Physical Education, Business Studies, Technology (Textiles or Home Economics), History, Social Studies, Arts, Childcare, and Life Skills. Please state your subject strengths and interests.
Applicants should be able to teach subjects up to Level 3 NCEA and may need to teach across 2 or 3 subjects at different levels. The successful applicant will be able to establish positive relationships with students, staff, whanau, and external agencies.
