Set in the picturesque rolling landscapes of South Taranaki, Normanby, Te Rau Whakapoipoi is responsible for overseeing the rearing of all lambs through the nursery period, taking them from birth through to targeted live weights at weaning time. They will ensure that the rearing facilities and systems are fully operational and support the general care and daily assessment of lamb health whilst leading a team of lamb rearers in conjunction with the Te Rau Whakahuka Miraka Hipi (Farm Manager). Key responsibilities of Te Rau Whakapoipoi include: Leading and motivating a team of lamb rearers Overseeing the daily care of lambs including health monitoring and nutrition Manage lamb grazing and any future run-offs Oversee lamb rearing operations including the maintenance of lamb barn equipment and infrastructure Precise record keeping, including weighing data, animal health treatments and identification.
