Whakarongorau aims to be there when face to face health and social services cannot, providing consistent, clinically supported access to services for those in need or when people are unable to access other options due to location, time of day, financial or cultural barriers.
Job DescriptionWhakarongorau supports a range of primary care clinics across Aotearoa, providing continuity of care for primarily high-needs rural communities and priority populations.
This is a contract role for clinics (Monday – Friday primarily).
As a Takuta (Doctor) with Whakarongorau you will:
Provide care tailored to meet the unique needs of registered patients.Collaborate with clinics to deliver optimal healthcare services.Conduct remote telehealth consultations.Understand local services and work to overcome access barriers.QualificationsYou will be passionate about delivering high-quality care to rural, high-needs and our vulnerable communities, who face many challenges and barriers to access quality health care. You will be committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, patient-whanau centered care, and to working collaboratively with the clinic team, and be either:
Experienced Takuta (Doctor) with appropriate experience & scope to work Primary Care.Matanga Rongoa Whanui (GP) who is a Fellow of the RNZCGP.Strong communication, relationship-building & teamwork skills.Experience in remote work is preferable but not essential.Commitment to a recurrent roster.Integrate understanding and learnings of Te Ao Maori, Tikanga and Te Reo into approach and delivery of care.To succeed in this role, you will need:
A high-speed fibre internet connection & a high-spec computer capable of handling high-demand software.A multi-screen setup, headset, printer, and scanner.You will need a private space to work from that ensures the confidentiality of conversations, documents, and technology.
