Details of the offer

Take the next step in your Administration career - Governance Advisor Do you have an interest in local government and the democratic process? Are you keen to help us deliver outstanding services to our community? Are you an organised administration professional in search of a new career opportunity? At Waipa District Council we have a new Governance Advisor opportunity to bring your exceptional administration skills to the next level. This role will see the successful applicant support our governance processes, including the conduct of Community Board and Committee meetings and provide administration support to our Community Boards. You will enjoy organising and coordinating meetings, along with preparing agendas, minutes and follow up correspondence. You will be on hand to answer any governance queries from staff and elected members, with a can-do attitude and customer first delivery. Although significant high level administrative experience in local government or a governance background would be desired, a qualification in business or a related discipline would be acceptable - with training to be provided within a supportive team environment. Ideally you will have a track record in meetings management, planning and skills that demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality, judgement and discretion. You will have excellent time management skills, cope well working under pressure and have exceptional attention to detail. There are 20 community board meetings per year and they do take place in the evenings, but you are able to switch these hours to another day to either start later or finish earlier.  Applications close on Sunday 24 March 2024 at 11:55pm.
