Follow lesson plans with individualised instruction and progressions to meet the needs of your students.
Continuously assessing your students to see they are progressing in their current level and ready to progress to the next level.
Our Learn to Swim programme teaches valuable life skills and our instructors are responsible for maximising customers' aquatic learning experience.
About you | Ko Koe Tenei Ideally, you'll have previous experience teaching, coaching, or coming from a swimming background; however, full training is provided.
You're a logical thinker and are always one step ahead.
You are keen to learn and are passionate about teaching people of all ages.
Most of all, you will be at home in the water.
This programme offers you the potential for growth and other opportunities within our Recreation, Sports & Events unit.

Successful applicants must hold a current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate covering unit standards 6400, 6401 and 6402, which can be obtained before the commencement of employment, at your own cost.
Successful applicants will be required to have an NZ Certificate in Aquatics (Swim and Water Safety Teacher) Level 3.
Should you not have this qualification, then you will be required to attend training and complete your Certificate within the agreed time.
Training dates to be confirmed with the successful applicants.
This is a two-day course and is paid for by the Christchurch City Council.
