Sushi Cook Wanted
Location: Hamilton, Waikato
Employment Type: Full-time (guaranteed 30 hours per week, scheduled from Monday to Sunday with one day off. The successful candidate must be available for shifts between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM). Permanent position.
Our pay: $29.66-$32.00 per hour
We are now looking for 3 Sushi Cooks to enhance our team. We are expecting someone who has passion for cooking , attention to detail, the ability for multi-task s, and are honest to join our busy kitchen team.
You are required to: Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment Preparing ingredients according to the daily needs and examining the quality of the ingredients at all time Date labelling ingredients to make sure the quality and freshness Making a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, maki, and sashimi, according to established recipes and standards while continuously innovating and refining techniques to enhance the culinary experience Cooking the dishes on the menu when get the order Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the dish during/after cooking Responsible on variety of sources making Storing and reserving food to the right temperature and facilities Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift. Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs Assisting with training and supervising kitchen staff whenever required Time efficiency, all the jobs or tasks must be finished in reasonable and certain time frame Able to handle high pace working environments and to deal with stress To be successful you will need:  Have at least 1 year's relevant work experience in cooking at commercial kitchen; OR H ave a NZQF level 2 or 3 qualification in cookery (or the same field), or equivalent certificates. Must be able to pass police check and drug test. The capability of operating kitchen equipment in a safe manner.
