Details of the offer

Support Workers (casual) Disability Support Services, Blenheim Mission - supporting people to live the best possible life
A matou ropu (About our team)
At Disability Support Services (DSS) we provide support to people who have disabilities to live lives that reflect their personal aspirations and choices. DSS provides support to over 250 people in a variety of residential settings across the Marlborough and Nelson/Tasman regions.
The people we support live in their own homes, with support provided through a residential contract. We support each person to manage their day to day lives in ways and at times that work for them. The people we support have a wide range of abilities. Some people need support with their personal care and taking care of household tasks; some need support to participate in their local communities, and some need communication and behavioural support too. We actively encourage people to pursue their dreams and try out new experiences, and can guarantee that no two days working at DSS are ever the same.
While most of our work is with people with disabilities, we also work with people who have multiple support needs who sometimes communicate through behaviour which others may find challenging, and who may also have involvement with mental health, youth justice, addictions, and/or Oranga Tamariki.
N.B. Disability Support Services are part of Nelson Marlborough Health, we are not however a medical/clinical service. We are a community based disability support service focused on quality of life outcomes and the Enabling Good Lives Principles.
