Te Tipu Whenua o Pa Harakeke is a Teen Parent Unit, based at Flaxmere College. We provide a holistic education that is designed to meet individual needs. We offer a supportive and nurturing environment where parents and babies can flourish.
We offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Support Worker who will work closely with our youth, whanau, the Head of Department, community, and other organisations to:
Advocate for students
Overcome barriers to education
Support access to benefits, housing, and other services
Create support plans and monitor their effectiveness
The ideal candidate will have proven communication skills, be effective at building and maintaining positive relationships, and have a passion for working with youth.
We require someone for 20 hours a week, term time only (or by negotiation). This is a permanent position, starting at the beginning of the 2025 school year.
