Support Worker - Corrections Supported Living

Emerge Aotearoa is a social services organisations providing a range of services to whanau, including Health and Disability, Youth and Transitional Housing. Our kaimahi all have a common goal - helping people realise their potential with the aim of supporting whanau to live their best life as independently as possible.
About the role
This role allows you to contribute to community well-being while you work alongside tangata whaiora moving through the Corrections system. As part of a wider team, you will maintain a supportive environment and will help tangata whaiora to achieve reintegration goals that increase their chances of remaining offence free once they leave our service.
A positive attitude and willingness to share your experience or actively seek out knowledge in accommodation, well-being, community support, education and training, employment and skills for life is highly desirable. We work in a lovely home in the St Andrews area with fabulous amenities close by. Everyday has variety but some shifts are slower so being self-motivated, energetic and having a sense of fun goes a long way in making this role your own.
You need to be a true people person who is comfortable working with all ages, personalities and cultures. The house is staffed 24/7 so flexibility is required. Hand on heart you need to say you are capable of providing structure and consistency while holding awareness that compassion is sometimes necessary.
