Queenstown Resort College – Paihia, North IslandThe Student Services Manager works as a mentor, leader, and community representative to best represent the goals of QRC and our students. Engaged with all touch points along the student journey, this position is critical to helping students achieve academically. From enabling a smooth admissions process, providing effective onboarding and ongoing support while on campus, the student services manager is a central role within the organisation.Key Accountabilities:Provide student support services and pastoral careManage visa and immigration requirementsSupports implementation and compliance with the Education Code of PracticeEnsure optimal management of student welfareCoordinate the events calendar for students and college functions including orientation, end-of-term functions, and EQRC support.Assist students with general enquiries and support, providing connection to external health providers as requiredSupport Hall of residence operations to ensure alignments with the wider organisational pastoral support modelHealth & Safety:Promote QRC's health and safety policiesReport all identified hazards, incidents (including near misses) and accidentsContribute to creating and sustaining a safe working environment for all students and staffParticipate in mandatory health and safety training as requiredPreferred Experience:Education, student counselling, pastoral care & supervisionOrganisation management and the development, implementation and monitoring of policy and proceduresExperience with dealing with a variety of cultures and age groupsEffective communication, exceptional written and oral skillsCultural sensitivity – demonstrated ease and respect in dealing with people from different cultures and ethnic groupsWillingness to undertake a broad array of tasks across several departmentsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)Understanding of the tertiary education sectorPersonal integrity and credibilityThe personality, profile and personal appearance to represent QRC as required by its desired standards and level of professionalismThe ability to model performance that is consistent with the values, ethical standards and desired culture of the CollegeCalm and patient manner
